The Advantage: Getting Your Criminal Justice Degree or Nursing Degree Online

by — Categories: ReviewsComments Off

With the job market more competitive today than ever, it’s not just high school graduates who are heading to college. Professionals are going back to school in an effort to change career paths or to enhance an existing one. However, finding time to take classes in a brick and mortar learning institution can be tough. An online criminal justice degree is an ideal way to get coursework done on your own time, on your own schedule.

Benefits of Online Learning

Besides the obvious convenience of taking classes at three in the morning and doing most of your coursework in your pajamas, there are other benefits to online learning.

  • Access – Now it’s easier than ever to take classes online, with professional 24/7 technical support to back you up. All you need is a computer, Internet access and a web browser. Classes are just a click of the mouse away and you can take those classes anywhere you’ve got access to the Internet.
  • Faculty – Because of the nature of online classes, faculty isn’t limited to a geographic area. This allows the best instructors in the field to participate and teach classes where those same instructors might not be available otherwise. Online classes also allow better, one-on-one access to your instructors through email and discussion boards.
  • Curriculum – Online students get the same accredited curriculums offered to students attending classes on campus. This curriculum is designed, targeted and led by faculty experienced in their field. A virtual bookstore offers both new and used text books that are delivered right to your home.
  • Interactive – You may be in your living room but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. Not only is there interaction with the faculty but there is interaction with other students as well. Often projects will require communication and collaboration between students taking the course. This enhances both the quality of the course and also the experience of taking it.
  • Experience – While the criminal justice program has no residence requirement, the online rn to msn program does have a practicum requirement. However, there is an extreme amount of flexibility within that requirement, allowing a student to complete practicum hours over a two semester period on the student’s own schedule.

When considering furthering your education, the advantages to getting your degree online are clear. The only question you need to ask yourself now is, “When do I start?”
