Another air sandwich from the Governor from Western Maryland’s perspective. We’ve been relegated to being MOM’s own personal terrarium…being basically told not to touch any of our own resources and sit by while green job skill training is spent in Baltimore.

Even if the residents of Maryland’s mountain region give our distant and ambitious chief executive the benefit of the doubt in his struggles with defining Maryland government’s mission in the face of plummeting revenues, we are still waiting for him to grasp that we are geographically and geologically perfect for a variety of green initiatives that never seem to cross his mind.

Rather than cynically pulling the puppet string on MDE and the Department of State Planning to prevent development in our communities he should be working to make Mountain Maryland a nationally prominent example of green industry and energy efficient housing development.
