Primary Affirmation
September 16th, 2008 by Kenneth Burns

The State Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling of an Anne Arundel Circuit Court judge that the ballot question when it comes to slots is misleading without the word ‘primary,’ thus dashing any hopes of slots foes to have the question reworded, or more to their liking probably, thrown off of the ballot this November.
Scott Arcenaux from Marylanders United to Stop Slots said that the judges were skeptical, but their hands were tide and the pro-slots lobby is to blame. He adds that the process of how this came about should be alarming to voters. “The pro-slots contingent is and has been playing hide the ball with the voters; they placed the things people would like in one bill and the things voters may not like in another and keeping the former in the closet. The curtain has been thrown back and the true nature of this process revealed.”
